About

My middle daughter, Abbey, wanted me to put bee hives in our yard. She finally wore me down and I purchased our first hive in May of 2018. When Abbey got stung in the eye within a month, she decided that she was done working with the live bees. Abbey still has a part of it though; she loves creating bee taxidermy, which you can check out on our website.

I, on the other hand, fell in love with it, even though I do get stung a lot.

Over the years, the number of hives grew and grew. Last year, we had 65 active hives that produced 2600 pounds of honey. I lost a lot of hives this fall and winter, which, unfortunately, was a nationwide trend this year. I am currently down to 11 hives. Time to rebuild!

I have hives in 5 locations now: Pittsford, Mendon, Fishers, Honeoye Falls and near Tug Hill.

A lot of my free time is spent tending to the bees, the business, or watching educational bee videos on Youtube. My ‘real’ job is that of a pharmacy manager at Walgreens in Bushnell’s Basin.

I sell a lot of honey at local events and started expanding what I sell to include lip balm, beeswax food wraps, t-shirts, and now hot honey!

If you ever want to check out the hives or the process, please get in touch.
