The original yard borders a field, while the other is located near a family cemetery. I have three overwintered hives and a nuc I purchased this year. The three overwintered hives were all swarm catches. The nuc was very prolific, and I split it several times to create more nucs. This yard produced a lot of delicious honey this year, compared to very little last year.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe original yard produced minimal honey this year, with only one hive yielding any. One hive was extremely aggressive, so I split it into two hives and removed the queen. I requeened with a Golden West queen, but that hive ultimately died.
