This is a new yard this year, and I am full of optimism. It’s in a wonderful rural location with abundant wild fields and trees. Nearby, there’s a pig farm next door and a cattle farm across the street. The yard includes two purchased nucs, a split with an Italian queen, two splits with Carniolan queens, a modest overwintered hive from my home yard that is now thriving, and a Golden West split. Considering all the hives are new, they are doing exceptionally well, and the honey is excellent.
